APEX EFRC Funding Award

I'm absolutely thrilled to announce that our “A Center for Power Electronics Materials and Manufacturing Exploration” (APEX) Energy Frontier Research Center (EFRC) has been awarded by the DOE Office of Science. This is a monumental opportunity for our research community, and I'm honored to be leading the charge in AI/ML and materials characterization within this groundbreaking initiative.

Unleashing Transformative Discoveries

APEX EFRC is poised to enable scientific breakthroughs in power electronics that will reshape the landscape of energy efficiency and microelectronics. Our focus on accelerating the development of wide-bandgap semiconductors aligns perfectly with the growing demand for more powerful, compact, and sustainable electronic devices.

Leading the Community, Forging Powerful Partnerships

This is a chance to position ourselves at the forefront of this exciting field. I'm particularly excited about collaborating with our incredible partners at Morgan State University, University of South Carolina, University of Virginia, Argonne National Laboratory, Johns Hopkins University, Kyma Technologies, Inc., and Colorado School of Mines. Together, we'll push the boundaries of what's possible in power electronics materials and manufacturing.

AI/ML: The Catalyst for Innovation

My team will be harnessing the power of AI and machine learning to transform materials synthesis and characterization. By integrating advanced computational techniques with experimental data, we'll uncover hidden insights, predict material properties, and accelerate the discovery of novel materials for power electronics applications.

Building a Power-Efficient Future, Empowering the Next Generation

APEX EFRC isn't just about cutting-edge research – it's about building a brighter future. We're committed to establishing new capabilities for designing power-efficient microelectronics that will reduce energy consumption and environmental impact. And just as importantly, we're dedicated to developing the next generation of scientists and engineers who will lead the way in sustainable technology innovation.
